18 MONOR. OUR TOWN. WE ARE BUILDING IT. TheMonor Sports Association (the MSA), the largest civil organization inMonor, was founded in 1901 by local students. The association grew stronger year by year and in 1905Monor was alsomentioned in the press as one of the strongholds of football. Thanks to the special support of the town administration eight departments are currently waiting for those whowant to play sports. TheMSA has nearly 800 SPORT and leisure members, half of whomare certified players. In recent years significant investments have beenmade into development of the sports complex, which provide better sports conditions: a large training pitchwith artificial grass covering, was built as well as a separate wrestling hall, and swimming pool developments were realized. Spending your spare time healthily inMonor is possible not only within organized bounds. The forests and fields surrounding the town provide excellent hiking opportunities. You can become acquainted with the values of the cellar village whenwalking along the tourist route running on the confines of the town. The developed network of cycle paths is temptingmore andmore residents to travel around the town or even the surrounding settlements on two wheels. There are also several gyms for fans of bodybuilding and fitness.
