26 MONOR. OUR TOWN. WE ARE BUILDING IT. EDUCATION and healthcare There are five kindergartens and one nursery in the town; the opening of the latter member institution is expected in 2022. The ever-renewing and growingmore beautiful kindergartens are preparingmore than seven hundred children for school years. The town’s newest kindergartenwas handed over in 2020 in the town centre. The special feature of the building is its structure consisting of solid wood panels which were used for construction of one of the first childcare institutions in Hungary. The bright spaces of themodern building have positive effect on the lives and development of young children. There are four primary schools inMonor. Pupils fromhere and the surrounding towns can continue their studies at two local secondary schools. Students at József Attila Grammar School and Vocational School of Economics are offered specialization in the humanities, science subjects or languages. For especially talented students the school also offers six-year education based on a unique curriculumand provides specialized training in economics. At Szterényi József Technical and Vocational School belonging to Cegléd Vocational Training Centre students can study informatics, trademarketing andmechanical engineering; they can obtain profession of mechatronic technician, information specialist, logistic administrator, shop assistant, waiter, painter and paperhanger, carpenter and electrician. The number of students at two secondary schools is close to 2000. Significant developments and extensions for both institutions will begin in 2022. Monor also has twomusic schools for beginners. The town has an extensive network of polyclinics, maintained by Baj-csyZsilinszky Hospital. Since 2012, GPs and dentists inMonor have been waiting for patients in a new surgery.
