VIGADÓ Vigadó Cultural and Civil Centre Nonprofit Ltd is an economic company in charge of public education in the town of Monor, sole owner of which is the Municipality of Monor. Vigadó plans, organizes and conducts the town’s cultural programmes, which inmany cases provide entertainment for the residents of the area. The seat of the company is the patinated Vigadó building in the heart of the town built more than 110 years ago and renovated with the support of the European Union tender. The excellent acoustics of the ceremonial hall of Vigadó enables continuous organization of classical music concerts, chamber music evenings and performer evenings. The pride of the hall is a professionally renovated Steinway piano, made in 1926, which offers unique possibilities when organizing programmes. They are constantly organising and hosting exhibitions, and wedding ceremonies are held here in the town. It is a regular organizer of educational lectures, talent competitions, quizzes, state andmunicipal events. They undertake courses, trainings, general meetings and presentations in their airconditioned lecture and training rooms. Year after year, new and refreshed outdoor programmes are offered to those interested. The Wine Regions Weekend, which presents the best wines of the Hungarian wine regions at the beginning of June, the Spritzer Saturdays in July to promote local products, the celebration of the founding of the state in August and the Advent candle lighting at the weekends in December are all successful initiatives.
